Title: See no evil, Hear no evil, and Speak no evil
Artists: AnnMarie Medico, Gabriela Sala, Emily Maule
Statement: See no evil, Hear no evil, and Speak no evil. This concept is presented in to show how political correctness dominates what one sees, hears, and speaks. To be politically correct one is presenting their expressions in a way that does not judge, discriminate, or lack thereof. This artwork is to represent how difficult it is in society to be Politically Correct.
The artwork is presented in an abstract manner. Symbols such as nails through the eyes represent political views bias-free by not seeing discrimination, burnt ears represent inoffensiveness by not hearing what is unfaithful to political correctness, and a sewn mouth represents consideration by not speaking of anything but political correctness.
Disclaimer: We do not intend for one to mimic the work, in reality upon themselves such as nail eyes in, burn the ears off, or sow the mouth shut, in order to be politically correct. We presented how we felt it is to be politically correct through artwork.
