Circles of life, the ripple effect of an individual’s choices

Title: Circles of life, the ripple effect of an individual’s choices

Artist: Bliss Reback

Statement: The concept idea for this sculpture was the product of all my experiences during my first semester here at Stetson University.

Although we see ourselves as individuals, and often assume that whatever choices we make in life will affect us and us alone, we are all ultimately connected. We inhabit this earth together and interact with one another on a daily basis. Hence, every little thing you do affects someone else directly and everyone else indirectly. While the knowledge that yes- even if in a very small way- you make a difference in the world, can be a very powerful thing if used in the proper way, it can be detrimental to society if the differences made by you are not a good influence upon the world. The purpose of this sculpture was for students here at Stetson to be more conscious of their actions.
